What if you had the tools to fan the flame of your idea before you had the chance to give it up?

You care, a lot. And — you feel a bit stuck on how to bring your community together: caring for their needs, infusing joy, helping them move through a cultural or interpersonal pain point. I’m your believe-in-possibility friend. Together, we will come up with a community impact strategy, and I’ll project manage alongside you as we make it happen.

Whether you’re a company, school, non-profit, church, or local government, I’ll work with you from dreaming to strategizing to project management to bring your initiative to life. I’ll get in the weeds with you, getting to know you and your organization in order to bring out the best in your team, leaving you feeling hopeful, connected, energized, and proud.

and whether you have a big idea or you need one, i am your first phone call.

I am:

  • An experience designer with 10+ years in management, business development, and unique, impact-driven event design.

  • A strategic thinker who has worked with high profile clients.

  • Passionate about bold, playful storytelling and experiences that keep the local community in mind.

  • Not one to shy away from testing an idea or having a hard conversation.

I have always been curious about ways to bring people together to experiment with: what might be possible for us? What kind of world do we want to live in, and how do we make it so?

Prior to opening my own creative impact studio, I was the Director of Partnerships for The Dinner Party Labs, where I worked with a diverse portfolio of communities to move through conflict and rupture across lines of identity or ideological difference, including spearheading work with the Mayor of New York City and the Baltimore Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church.

I live this work in my personal life as much as I do in my professional life. One of my current projects is my own creative vending machine company, where I vend local art as a way of elevating and supporting makers in my neighborhood. When I’m not working, I can be found doing things that bring me joy: hosting a weekly open community meal in my home, hanging with my husband and two pups, or writing my substack

Let’s Work Together

We’re going to get along well if you are itching to do something with deeper impact- going beyond the norm while still savoring the everyday; learning how to invite others along as we build a collective future.

Working with me means getting a tailored, individualized experience that will take an honest look at what is, dream about what could be, and narrow the gap between the two.

Consulting

I’ll begin by auditing what you already have, noticing where there are gaps, and synthesizing the data towards a generative and strategic plan to bring your idea to life.

Thought partnership. High-impact ideas. Creative problem solving and clear action items.

prOjeCt ManageMent

Once we have your idea in place, I’m in to oversee the execution of your idea, too.

I’ll be just as invested as you are: understanding your mission, working with your team, and ensuring we hit our deliverables with excellence and care.

  • on how to support people in their grief; on generative possibility; on creative community impact

  • helping you have the conversation that your group needs to have in order to work together

  • to connect with oneself, to process, to grieve, to play. participants leave feeling cared for, energized, and inspired

  • Keynotes, sermons, lunch-and-learns: I’ll come speak to your group about creative community impact, tools to build good relationships, or how to practice joy with grit

Together we can cast a vision for a world where people are taken care of, where we can face it all: the joy and sorrow, the mundane and the magnificent: and where we don’t have to do any of it alone.

My workshops and retreats are practical and inviting, giving groups to a safe place where to reflect, collaborate, and find new ways of working together.

  • in the spring of 2020 right in the middle of the covid-19 shut down k scarry developed an incredible idea to help our community. herndon cares became a community effort to provide meals to those who had lost work while creating business for local restaurants who were struggling because of the shutdown. every week herndon cares needed dozens of volunteers, a flood of donations and a complex logistics system to make it all work. k made it happen. i thought we might be able to do 50 meals a week, but k got us up to doing 1500. k had an out of the box idea, she saw it through from beginning to end and it touched our community when we needed it most.

  • k scarry has been a close movement partner for many years-- as our team sought facilitators to support our reflection process at a year end retreat, k was a natural-- and perfect!-- choice for our team. k quickly established trust and held space for our team to reflect openly together, developed an amazing agenda, and even had surprises that made the time light while allowing for deep connection. i would highly recommend k for facilitation and retreat development!
